Are You Ready? Let’s Gooooooooooo
I sat down to write something profound and deep about baseball, but was too excited and nervous and just teetering on the precipice of crazy to string sentences together into a coherent thought. Instead, I watched videos from the 2009 postseason and the TBS Yankees commercial a number of times until my excitement started to overcome my nerves, and now I am just pumped up for one more huge (or as Joe Pawlikowski would said, EPIC) (or as Ben Kabak would say, HugePocalypse) game. I recommend you fill the last 3 hours before game time doing the same, and have provided the tools for doing so below. Go Yanks!

- Most poker sites open to US players also provide online casinos accepting USA players. A good example of this is BetOnline.com, where you can play 3D casino games, bet on sports or play poker from anywhere in the United States.

Nothing better than winning a do or die game and nothing worse. I clearly remember going to school the day after the Boone homerun and being on cloud nine and conversely the day after game 5 in 2005 feeling like garbage. This is it, don’t let us down.
I’m confident.
thanks a lot for the video moshe it was a lot of fun. one thing i was struck by was how crazy the fans went at all these great moments. for some reason it seems like the fans at the old stadium were way more into it than at the new (2009 videos). it just seems like the atmosphere is not the same. i have gotten that feeling attending some games at ys 3 as many fans just sit there looking at their phones and not even standing up for big moments, unlike at the old stadium. do you guys get that feeling too and have the yankees priced out the “average fan” a little bit (i know i cant afford anything below the upper deck most of the time, certainly at a playoff game)
I think this is primarily a function of two things: (1) the structure of the new Stadium, which has a considerably recessed upper deck compared to YS2. In the old stadium, every fan in the Stadium was practically on top of the field, which is in part why the celebrations at the old park look more out of control; and to a lesser extent, (2) pricing, as you mention.
That said, I’ve attended seven playoff games at the new Stadium, and have found the place to be just as electric as the old one; I think it just doesn’t translate that well on TV.
I wrote about this back in the 2009 postseason: Welcome to the new Stadium, not the same as the old Stadium.
While the average fan being priced out is certainly an element, also consider that smartphones and other distractions didn’t exist, games started earlier and various other factors that may be hurting the atmosphere. At least it’s not Tampa where they can’t sell-out a playoff game.
