We're having a party!

Today is a very special day for Yankee fans, where we get to salute a very special team.  A team that played its inaugural season in a ballpark that will stand for generations of Yankee fans. A team was very closely knit, and those bonds seemed to grow over the course of the season. A team that shed many of its demons from recent years. From Boston being the better team in recent years, the 0-8 start against the Red Sox , the Los Angeles Angels having our number, questions of age with key players, and to Alex Rodriguez and CC Sabathia struggling in the post season. Winning the World Series answers all questions, and now we get to celebrate our team today in a victory parade in Manhattan.

River Ave has a meet up scheduled for those lucky enough to be able to attend. Try to get there early, the narrow downtown Manhattan streets will be jammed and you won’t be able to see much if you show up at the last minute. A better bet might be walking over to the City Hall ceremony, where Mayor Bloomberg will present the Yanks with the ‘Keys to the City’ and a big screen will be set up for fans to view the proceedings. Have fun, be safe and try not to get too drunk.
