According to Buster Olney, the Yankees have reached an agreement with Hiroki Kuroda on a one year deal.
Last season, Kuroda put up a 3.32 ERA and 3.86 FIP at 37 years old. His transfer from NL West to AL East, ballpark included, was always a question mark a year ago. After a year as the Yankees’ #2 pitcher, his value increased this offseason. After making $10 million in 2012, the Yankees agreed to a $15 million deal with less than $1 million in incentives for 2013.
This marks the Yankees first major move of the offseason. They now look to re-sign Andy Pettitte on what will most likely be another one year deal.

15 million is steap but on one year who cares. He probably won’t pitch quite as well as he did last season, when he was our most consistent, and arguably best, pitcher. However I don’t see a large decline in his overall effectiveness and he was by far the best option on the market. If we can re-sign Andy and hopefully get Pineda pitching again by June I’m not too worried about the 2013 rotation.
