The Yankee season is over, but why not watch the rest of the baseball season? We have a real treat of a pitching match up tonight, Justin Verlander against the great Barry Zito. That’s pretty one sided for the Tigers. The way the Giants have been playing lately, Verlander really should start this series off by stopping the San Francisco momentum.

Here are some links to look over as we await tonight’s 8:00 start.

That’s all for now. Whoever you’re rooting for, go them!

and Sandoval just hit his third HR of the game…the last coming after Verlander was removed from the game.
momentum is not only not stopped but appears to steaming ahead.

Why all the Barry Zito bashing?

The guy just pitched the game of his life last night.

He is 160-132 with a 3.93 ERA and almost 1800 SO in a over 2400 IP – not bad by any stretch.

He has made at least 32 starts and pitched at least 180 innings in 11 of the last 12 seasons after his rookie season.

He has a 6-3 record and an ERA under 3 in ten postseason starts after last night.

He’s not the pitcher he was in Oakland but he’s still serviceable – I’d say he’s a solid #3 starter at worst.

Also since I think the Tigers are done after Verlander’s colossal flopjob Zito will have two World Series rings with the Giants and while he didn’t pitch in the 2010 World Series, he did strike out 150 batters that season, so he pitched in that season, too.

The guy is a winner who rises to the occasion when it counts the most.
