ALCS Game 4: One Game At A Time
There’s a 7% chance the Yankees win the ALCS. That’s a pretty low numbers, but if you go game by game, the Yankees should have the upper hand tonight. With CC Sabathia on the mound against Max Scherzer, we all know who the better pitcher is. Pitching isn’t what’s hurt this team though, it’s been the hitting. Fortunately, today’s lineup is stacked with lefties against a right handed pitcher with a huge platoon split. Against lefties, Scherzer has allowed a 2012 triple slash of .292/.366/.465. If last night’s 9th inning and these splits mean anything, today could be a breakout day for the offense.
It might be too little too late, but our outlook must be one game at a time. Otherwise, focusing on the 7% chance of winning really takes away the fun of playoff baseball. Here’s today’s lineup courtesy of LoHud.
Ichiro Suzuki LF
Nick Swisher RF
Robinson Cano 2B
Mark Teixeira 1B
Raul Ibanez DH
Eric Chavez 3B
Russell Martin C
Brett Gardner CF
Eduardo Nunez SS
The game starts at 8:00 PM on TBS. GO YANKEES!
Despite the lack of rain so far, tonight’s game has been postponed until 4:07 PM tomorrow. See you then!

Hey, thanks, I got lost over there.
I don’t hear no Fat Lady singing. Well, maybe she’s practicing her scales. But she ain’t signing!
She is as silent as the Yankee bats.
OH, so it’s a threat of rain delay. Never heard that one before!
Maxwell Smart, “It’s the old threat of rain delay.”
Third time I’ve fallen for that this month.
I was expected something about the cone of silence of the Yankee batters.
Missed it by that much.
Hawr
I heard TBS go to programing, but never heard anything about an expected start time. This could be like the old Spahn, and Sain, and pray for rain.
Yeah, ESPN has no expected start time, either.
At LoHud they’re saying rain isn’t expected to start until 10pm. ???? If that’s the case, I bet they has to after pone the game to tomorrow and eliminate the travel day. But if they eliminate the travel day they can’t get to NYC. Complicated.
hello? Hello? Is this pone working?
Then why don’t they call the game now? If it’s going to rain at 10, and they’re not going to play, what’s the point of waiting?
That question is beyond me. There must be something in the water in Detroit (drinking and non-falling). Maybe you can’t postpone a playoff game for rain unless it’s actually raining??????
it’s simple. All corporate business. See, you wait around this lame child/adult play in your millions, some of your precious selves will fall under their spell. Then you’re theirs; your eyeballs read their message, and that pays.
The old error establishing a database connection message.
Max, you do realize you’ll be facing every kind of database error imaginable?
Bring down of the cone of silence, because there’s no game tonight!
Would you believe…..
Chat at ya tomorrow Chief. Agent 99 and I are out of here.
I was RIGHT!!! No Fat Lady singing tonight!
Oh, well. At least they didn’t lose.
Aye, but will tomorrow…bring simple defeat? No, we’ve waited a day. CC can’t fail us now…but wait.. I hear distant footsteps…certainly, it would not be (the damned) tigers…
No. it’s the Giants.
come on, Yankees.
