Can Jeter outhomer A-Rod?
Don’t want to walk the leadoff man.
Sure would be a relief if somebody knocked a double, triple or -dare I say – homer. Get some runs out of bases loaded.
well, we softened him up, and Santiago’s not around tonight. That guy is a tough nut, at least on lefties.
I’m following on GameDay. Looks like more blown opportunities for the Yanks. It bit them in the butt yesterday. Well, one of many factors.
sure they were trying (hard), but it seemed Floyd could have been slayed.
A hit & a walk…….great way to protect the lead they you Ivan.
He gone! Dunn, he is.
Nova is resourceful, using a wild pitch to get an out.
well, Dunn done swung.
or were you referring to the pitch earlier?
Reading Gameday, it said there was a wild pitch and Martin threw out Yuckillis at 2nd.
yeah, that was in the dirt loose, and so was Dunn’s last pitch, curled around his back ankle while he was swinging.
Slider, I believe.
Must have been funny to see.
Nice play by Jeter. Big throw. We stuffed them, thus regaining the upper hand.
I hope getting out of that jam settles Nova down for the rest of the game.
it could, hope it does. The guy is a bulldog, but his confidence must be challenged.
The last couple of games I’ve seen him pitch he was looking frustrated. Not at all like he looked last year even when giving up runs.
Liriano is a bum. they need to knock him out of the game in this inning.
I’d say his problem is his head. He lacks confidence, but has good stuff. He looks a much better pitcher since the second.
What’s the recovery period for a head transplant?
Swish just missed a double on that first foul. His swing is much more flexible now. Maybe he sees duty different as a a#2 hitter.
I’ve forgotten who it was, but someone on MLBN said that the best position to bat in for all of MLB is 2nd for the Yankees. Pointed to Jeter’s success in his career, the Grandy, and now Swish.
yeah, I saw that. But Swish had been criticized for always swinging so hard.
Not even close to Sheffield
I remember those windmills.
I think he once missed a ball, but the wind blew it over the 2nd baseman’s head for a single.
Another one bites the dust!
Youk hit it on the button to deep center, elicited a pursed lip ooh from Ivan.
Wow! A pursed lip!! I prefer reading your descriptions to Gameday.
tried to give you a little color.
He turned purple on Konerko’s blast.
Those who are related to the Queen are in the 8th inning of a scoreless games with the home of the Republican Convention.
wish i knew the site of the convention, so I could figure the durn queenish shit.
probably the Royals, playing Cleveland?
Royals & Rays
Looks like the Yankee bats are in hibernation. Just hope it’s a short one. Wait, bad analogy because they didn’t a fat lead before hibernation.
Both Tex and Jones took fb at the knees, down the middle. Liriano threw another to Tex, and he buzzed him good. Jones, think he took two, then hacked at a high outside pitch.
There’s a fluffy alligator in a sox uni sitting right behind home.
Turn him into cowboy boots.
Live look-in on KC-TB game. Two out bot 9th, 0-0. GB towards 2nd. 1st basemen breaks to 1st. Pitcher breaks to first. Pitcher intercepts throw, but 1st baseman on 1st. Runner is safe.
oouch! They showed a replay of a Houston defense of a bunt: the 1B got it, going toward home, bumped into the pitcher, then the catcher. Prob explaining why Mills was inadequate.
He’s a pinball wizard!
Wise is a freaking ingrate.
Ugh!!!!
Looked like Swish might get Youk’s fly, but it kept drifting, finally five feet over the fence.
That’s 53 HRs between Nova & Hughes
God Save the Queen. They scored a run in the top of the 10th.
hip, hip!
Jorge
ah, we knew him well.
Well, at least the Yankees won’t lose a game to the Rays tonight. Final, 1-0 in favor of the town with the better BBQ
I can’t believe that for 5 innings the yanks couldn’t score a run vs. Liriano.
Grandy killed two rallies, hit it pretty hard, but at them. He doesn’t hit well in either Detroit or Chicago, his home towns. an anti-hero.
Anti-hiro? What does he have against Kuroda?
his grandaddy was wiped out at Iwo Jima, maybe.
Glad to see Ichi. We need baserunners.
Not looking good for the Yanks. Two straight games where the starter blew the lead.
whew, yeah it’s a drag. Suppose we’ll have to fight for it.
Me thinks Lowe between yesterday and tonight is pitching himself out of a job.
I dunno. He got out of a big jam last inning. This triple, the third base was from a fluke bounce.
Now seven base runners in last 2.2 innings. Ugh!
lots of runners, for sure.
The created a monster with Wise!
he did get juiced, didn’t he?
Probably taking some PEOJ. Performance Enhancing Orange Juice
Yankee pitching has now given up 16 runs in 16 innings to CWS!
Now 4 straight loses in games I can’t watch. Thank God tomorrow’s game is on ESPN2
Chat ya tomorrow smurfy
May Hughes turn huge again.
