Damn, looks like the AL lost this game in the 1st inning.
The 2011 MVP/Cy Young/Noble Peace Prize winner Justin Verlander blew it.
It didn’t cause and runs and it wont affect the outcome, but Bautista let two balls bounce off the wall and get past him.
Well, the Yanks are 1 for 2.
Now that was a nice catch by Bautista.
Yeah, I had a feeling about Verlander. He hasn’t been too dominant this year. Shoulda learned to bet.
He stepped out of his normal pattern and overthrew it.
he’s running lean this year. Bet against the Tigers.

If the best and the fan favorites play the ASG, they should chose the announcers the same way.
wonder what the national polls say. Buck has a made for celebrity persona, knows a lot of baseball, very professional in dulcet tones. McCarver is the ultra-credentialed color man, I’m thinking they see little amiss. McCarver crashes into walls with his opinions, surely, but they probably figure this is the best of the best.
Wonder if Buck would be fun if he were a homer.
I can’t believe that McCarver gets inducted into the HOF for announcing. A national poll would be interesting. Since there are so few national announcers Buck might win. Not enough people here Costas anymore.
hear, here. I have been so touched by his humanity (humility, but very understanding) that he has shown in the superstar interviews for the past, the top 20 games. Didn’t see many, but I loved what I saw.
But what about Ken Burns? Is he a Yankee hater?
No idea about Burns. Never saw his specials.
Holy Smackerel dere, Andy! I especially recommend copies from the Library from 1865- 1920. Americana painted by a slightly impressioned realist. Can’t even think of his politics for the reality in his liberal thought. I recommend a cool winter evening, and a good red wine, a fire, if you got one.

Hope Robbie remembers that one, a perfect RISP hit. He knows he can do it, on the first or second pitch he sees, not worth the wait for that sweet conjuncture between chance and opportunity.
Improving their hitting w/RISP to league average would be better than making a big acquisition.
Robbie is that versatile, that he could batter choose his opportunities. Be a Mark Grace, with more power. Love those timely doubles.
this game is ugly. If this keeps up would love to see the ratings when they come out tomorrow.

nope. I’ve loved his attitude in his recent appearances.
I wonder if that gun was right. I don’t think Joba has hit 97 the past couple of years.

Not quite like Ripkin’s last ASG, but still a hit. I lived in ATL from 1983 to 2003 and watched a lot of TBS, I do love me some Chipper.

Wow, no, Tim. That was amazing to see Trout’s pitch in slo-mo, and know that his chop swing met it perfectly. The kid must be psychic to anticipate the last four inch drop.

Myself, I didn’t care for the fiddle accompanied singer. Fiddle’d been fine, but I couldn’t hear the dang singer, whatever he said.
