This team’s been up and down all season. It’s time to stay up.
Seems like almost all the Yankee starters are having problems giving up homers. I wonder if the stadium has anything to do with it. I should check the road splits.
I won’t be chatting much tonight, game’s not on in Houston. But 33 HRs in 25 home games and 36 HRs in 28 road games.
So the stadium isn’t the problem. They just stink.
I don’t want to pay for MLB TV, but I go for Gameday Audio, so I can at least listen to the game even out of town.
Andy gets his first K. Clocked at 87, and looked kind of straight. If you can blow 87 mph fastballs past guys, you’re doing some serious pitching.
OK, first RISP test of the evening…A walk. Now Cano, 2 on, 1 out.
Infield single off the pitcher. OK, bases loaded. Now is the time, guys.
AAAUUUUUGGHHH!!! Teixeira took a called third strike. Sheesh……
All right, 2-0 on Ibanez with the bases loaded and two out.
3-1…
Grounder…and an ERROR! RISPfail but the Rays let them off the hook.
Teixeira would have had that throw, I think. It was in, hit off the first baseman’s body, not away from him.
They couldn’t tack on. 2 runs on the error, no hits with RISP.
Tex and Swish played it too cool, waiting for the perfect one. On Tex, the first pitch looked pretty dandy, but he probably didn’t want the Prof. biting his neck if he failed.
Tex should know the difference between hitting against a strike thrower in the first inning and a guy who walked or hit 3 straight batters in the ninth with a one-run lead.
yeah, that was too close to trust the ump to call a ball.
Daniel Bard got send to AAA. Hmmmm.
probably all those helpful shouts of encouragement from Red Sox Nation got under his collar.
Matsuzaka is coming back soon, so Bard may head to the pen, says the YES team.
Earlier, the MLBN guys reported Valentine said Bard would start at AAA to straighten out mechanics.
I would think that if they were going to put him back in the pen they wouldn’t have to put him in AAA, but when Matsuzaka comes back someone has to go.
One should expect Dic-K to stutter-start. More support needed in bullpen, but somebody to fill in if he really struggles.
Pettitte strikes out the side in the 3rd!
Swish was all over that pitch. We’re filling the bases…
Hope the dog’s hungry… Bark! Bark-bark! Bark!
Boom! Someone finally comes through.
The birds are pooping on the Crimson Hose, 2-0.
oh, my, the avian flu all over their cute uni’s.
Even Swish is hitting! Now this is a game.
Once again, Swish hits it on the button. Like those line drives!
A nice dull game.
yeah, I’ve been able to flip over to see my hero, Cliff Lee, pitch a nice one on MLBN. Sweet play on the bunt to get the runner coming into 3rd, then a fine throw by Pence to get another.
He’s your hero? I hate him.
He’s gotten horrible run support this year.
Wow, another game that Lee can’t win. Amazing.
how can you hate a beautiful work of art?
He had his first victory until he gave up a double (that an excellent fielder woulda had). Now down 2-1, instead of up 1-0 in the 8th.
I hate whoever isn’t a Yankee. The better he is, the more I hate him.
I see. Prob especially the ones who got away.
Yep.
Another error. These are not your father’s Rays.
Another graceful catch by Swish.
Hey, Russell is pushing .210! Maybe you weenies will let him catch our pitchers, and sharrup!
I posit a strong argument for Lee to choose Philly over us was the catcher, Ruiz over Posada.
If that is why then Lee is stupidly short sighted. I hate the entire city of Philadelphi. Its like everything you hate about NYC moved to Pennsylvania and made its own city. Screw em I’m with you Prof.
Also the Yankees apparently already have deals with Hensley and Aune
I went to school in Philly and have a few fond memories….But screw the Phillies (except when they play the Mets. Hating the Mets overpowers all other hate.)
weenie
the Yankees’ top prospect was a hitter-catcher, Jesus Montero, the weenie magnet.
Wahoo! Easy do. Adios, Professor.
Ciao, main man.
