After a disappointing loss last night, the Yankees go back to work against the Toronto Blue Jays.  Phil Hughes will take the hill for the Yankees, matching up against 21 year-old rookie Drew Hutchison.  According to Fangraphs, Hutchison averages about 91 mph with his 4-seamer, and also mixes in a 2-seamer and a slider.

Alex Rodriguez gets a day off tonight, so Eric Chavez will fill in at 3rd base.  Nick Swisher is at the DH position, and Raul Ibanez and Andruw Jones will man the outfield corners (should be a fun one).  For the Jays, Brett Lawrie dropped the appeal to his 4-game suspension, so he will be out for the remainder of the series.  Lineups are below.  Have fun, talk it up, and let’s go Yankees!

Derek Jeter SS
Curtis Granderson CF
Robinson Cano 2B
Mark Teixeira 1B
Raul Ibanez LF
Nick Swisher DH
Eric Chavez 3B
Andruw Jones RF
Russell Martin C

What a way to start the game. Cano with a double with a runner on 1st, then 0 for 2 w/RISP!!!

  2. Professor Longnose says:

The hitters have to shake themselves out of this funk.

Hughes couldn’t get out of the 6th? Disgusting.
