Today’s rubber game features a marquee pitching match up. The Reds will send their ace Johnny Cueto to the mound. Cueto has gotten off to an excellent start this season and figures to give the dormant Yankee offense fits. Fortunately the Bombers counter with CC Sabathia. The Yankees may not need all that much offense. The batter to watch remains Joey Votto. He’s not as effective against lefties, but then again he’s also one of the three best hitters in the game. It’ll be entertaining to see how Sabathia handles him. Enjoy.

  1. Professor Longnose says:

Take two of three and I’ll be happy. Until tomorrow.

  2. Phil C says:

With the number of passed balls Stewart has I now understand why Girardi saws he’s not CC’s personal catcher.

    • Professor Longnose says:

He says he’s not his personal catcher, but he’s caught every game of Sabathia’s since opening day. Why does he have to blow smoke up everyone’s ass like that?

  3. Phil C says:

So that writers & fans can discuss whether or not he is CC’s personal catcher and why Girardi won’t admit it rather than what does it mean that he is CC’s personal catcher.

    • Professor Longnose says:

I don’t see the advantage, but maybe it’s me.

    • Professor Longnose says:

And what does it mean that he’s CC’s personal catcher?

      • Phil C says:

Avoids speculation that Martin & CC have some problem. Remember all the nonsense with AJ & Jorge.

        • Professor Longnose says:

I doubt that it really avoids speculation. I doubt that anything avoids speculation. I mean, there’s a 24-hour speculation cycle. It’s crazy.

For me, all it does it make me turn off the radio when Girardi is on. If you’re going to BS me, at least be good at it.

  4. Professor Longnose says:

    Ibanez!

  5. Professor Longnose says:

8th inning. Down 3-2. Leadoff single.

    Get it (censored) done!

  6. Phil C says:

This team is in big trouble. The season is not over, but they have to turn it around and soon (within 10 games).
