Ivan Nova came into this game against the Reds with the most extra base hits in the MLB. Although he’s already struckout all 6 outs he’s made, a flyball to Raul Ibanez fell for a double, as well as a groundball past Alex Rodriguez. Coupled with a few walks, the Reds are winning 2-0 as Nova’s BABIP continues to remain around a ridiculous .400. Homer Bailey doesn’t limit homeruns and hits very well, so the Yankees need to take advantage of today’s pitcher.

Who the hell are these guys wearing pinstripes? Six batters and they’ve seen only 22 pitches?

  2. Phil C says:

What a strange game by Nova. 11 Ks through 5 innings, but .600 on BABIP (6 for 10). He seems to have trouble getting the ball where Martin wants it, which has helped on a lot of his Ks.

And his HR/FB rate still up there. Don’t ask me to explain it.

      • T.O. Chris says:

Yeah I’m still confused on how to feel about his new strikeout strategy, or ability. If the K’s are coming naturally then everything should even out, however if he has strikeout fever and not pitching to contact as much I think that’s a mistake. He got to this point as a pitch to contact sinker guy, he needs to focus on that and if K’s come they come.

BTW professor my phone freaked out and deleted everything about my email including people’s email addresses, so just shoot me an email so I can get it back.

Two runs, three innings. Too much to ask for?
