Sorry for the delayed game thread. Andy Pettitte is currently pitching a gem with 8 K’s in 5.0 IP. The Yankees offense is still struggling with only 3 men on base and an 0-4 with RISP. Andy might have to take a page out of ’97 to win tonights game. Go Yankees!

Considering how the Yankees have been playing it’s hard to envision them winning any of these games. However, that’s the great thing about baseball everything can chance without notice.

  2. Phil C says:

I think the Yankee batters are starting to really press. Arroyo’s only used 60 pitches through 5 innings. (The game is not on TV here in Houston, so I’m following it on GameDay so I may be off on that pressing idea.)

  3. Professor Longnose says:

The whole team is in a slump now. At least Pettitte is bringing some hope.

  4. Professor Longnose says:

A leadoff hit. OK, 7 runs this inning.

  5. Phil C says:

Mitch Williams on MLBN was saying that Pettitte was giving away when he was throwing a breaking ball. Either Pettitte corrected that, Williams was wrong, or the Reds just can’t hot it anyway.

  6. Michael Eder says:

2 hard hit balls and a blow call by the ump. Just how things are going right now.

  7. Phil C says:

WOW! I’m surprised Pettitte is back out to start the 8th. Definitely shows the effects of no Robertson & Mo.

  8. Phil C says:

Need runs now!! I hate seeing Soriano go out there with only a one run lead.

  9. Michael Eder says:

WOW that was one of the hardest hit balls I’ve ever seen to the bleachers.

  10. Professor Longnose says:

OK, now they can bring in Soriano.

  11. Phil C says:

Three runs without having a RISP!!

  12. Phil C says:

Verlander lost his no hit bid after 8.1 innings.

  13. Phil C says:

Well, 2 straight games w/o a hit w/RISP. Six games with no hits in 3 and only 1 in the other 3. Now 3 for 48 over that6 game stretch. Some pitcher(s) are going to pay big time soon.
