Nightly Links: Robertson, Banuelos, Almonte
- Don’t you fret because David Robertson is OK! After strolling through the Yankee clubhouse like a boss, the reliever made his way to catching without any foot pain.
- On Saturday, David Fung at Beyond The Boxscore released the Yankee version of their Window to Win series. He concludes that with any help from Manny Banuelos and Dellin Betances, along with resigning Cano and Granderson, the team can look to compete far beyond 2015.
- In prospect lists, Fan Graphs listed their top 100 prospects for 2012. Manny Banuelos ranked 28th, Jose Campos 65th, Dellin Betances 68th, and Mason Williams 98th. Wait where is Gary Sanchez? *rabblerabblerabble*
- Then there is Kevin Goldstein’s 2012 Organizational Rankings. The Yankees landed 15th. His pro: A large amount of upside depth in the low levels. His con: Few upside players in the upper levels.
- Yesterday, Chad Jennings summarized the impression and hype Zoilo Almonte has created in camp. Something tells me that we would have seen him on a lot more organizational prospect lists if they were released right now.
- Yankees Fans Unite has an exclusive interview with Cito Culver. Theres a lot to take out of it, but I like the fact that he’s gained weight over this offseason. While it’s good to have such a light and nimble shortstop, there is no way he’ll the majors without improving his hitting.
- And today’s workout.

- Most poker sites open to US players also provide online casinos accepting USA players. A good example of this is BetOnline.com, where you can play 3D casino games, bet on sports or play poker from anywhere in the United States.

Thanks for the mention. Here is the link to the interview. http://yankeesfansunite.wordpress.com/2012/03/12/yankees-fans-unite-exculsive-interview-with-cito-culver/
I’d love to hear Hulet’s rationale for leaving Sanchez off. Even if you have his attitude and defense, he put up pretty impressive power numbers at 18 in full season ball (comparable to #29 Xander Bogaerts, today’s latest shiny new toy).
A disastrous two years from Bobby V might finally end the Sox’s joy ride with the national media. It’ll go back to how it was for decades: the love that dare not utter its name. Wouldn’t surprise me if the Sox are looking for new owners in 2 years. Branch Rickey said “trade a player one year too early than one year too late.” Same goes for franchises.
