Nightly Links: Nunez, Pineda, Aardsma

• News out of today’s game starts with Michael Pineda, who was impressive in his debut. Brett Gardner hit a triple and scored on the play, which was more of a single. Eduardo Nunez was hit by a pitch and was taken out of the game, but X-rays were negative and he’ll be ready to play on Wednesday. My pick for sleeper this spring training is getting a lot of attention, Zoilo Almonte hit a single to keep his perfect 5 for 5 streak going. (Box Score)

• George King has word from Freddy Garcia himself, and he’s ok with pitching in the bullpen. I suppose he’ll be the longman and 6th starter, but I don’t foresee a problem getting him starts, someone will be injured eventually.

• While we’re talking about starting pitchers, It’s About the Money has a word on the projections for the rotation in 2012. Also, Chad Jennings at LoHud collected some quotes on Michael Pineda’s changeup.

• Yankee Fans Unite landed an interview with newest Yankee David Aardsma where he talks about his journey through the Major Leagues, his health, and his approach on the mound.
