• Even though we’re a few days before the official pitchers and catchers deadline, some big names have already begun to show up. Michael Pineda spoke to the press today about his outlook on becoming a Yankee, adding a changeup, and his friendship with Robinson Cano.
  • There were a few tidbits on a Burnett deal today, with Ken Rosenthal reporting that talks are at an impasse, and the Yankees have set a deadline of Saturday to prevent problems when pitchers and catchers meet. According to Wallace Mathews of ESPN New York, the Yankees proposed a trade of Burnett to the Angels for Bobby Abreu, but Burnett threatened to exercise his no-trade clause, preferring to remain on the East Coast. The lack of Burnett news today feels like the calm before the store.
