I really don’t know how they aren’t jumping on the Pirates paying 10 million if the rumor is true. All the talking heads have been saying the Yankees would be lucky to pay 25 million of the remaining contract, that would be only 23, and it opens up room for Chavez and Ibanez. There’s no way I’m paying half if I’m the Pirates. They aren’t likely to compete even with Burnett and the Yankees need to get rid of him before ST.
