  1. X says:

Way to look at strike three Posada. Will the Yanks bench this guy already? He’s done.

  2. Mike says:

Once again the Yanks’ brains turn to mush against the Red Sox.

No steal by Nunez or sacrifice bunt by Jeter then he gets on and predictably attempts a steal on the first pitch. He wasn’t even close to second.

They’re losing this game if they don’t play more aggressive, smarter baseball. Three men left on base already. You can’t do that against John Lester.

  3. Mike says:

Here we go again with Michael Kay. Tonight he’s saying Bedard “pitched well” for Boston last night.

    Since when is 5 IP 7 H 3 ER pitching “well”? That’s a 5.40 ERA. Idiot.

  4. Duh, Innings! says:

If the Yanks are still up through seven they should bring in Mo for the final two innings.

He hasn’t pitched the last two games thus he is well rested enough to give the Yankees two innings.

  5. Duh, Innings! says:

Steven Tyler looks like a baboon in a fedora LOL.

    Nice Botox job.

  6. smurfy says:

Player of the game: Boone Logan, assist Joe Girardi, honorable mention for offense and defense Nick Swisher. Announcer of the game: David Coney.

    • Duh, Innings! says:

Logan did honorable mention great but Swisher is the player of the game for he snapped the 2-2 tie with a double (excelled with the bat) and saved a potential tie by keeping Crawford to a double (excelled with the glove.)

If Logan gets the POTG that award is becoming a joke. It’s been lately when Cano got it in the 18-7 drubbing of the Chi-Sox when he went only 3 for 4 while Granderson collected 4 hits and Captain Can’t Hit Anymore collected 5 (CCHA should’ve been POTG that game – only his fourth career hit game and second this year.)

      • smurfy says:

Boone’s joke was coming into bases loaded, down two runs, two outs. He struck out the leading hitter in the league on three pitches, hardy har har hee hee.

The boys, with Swish delivering the final and best blow, followed Boone’s heroics with 3 runs of team pride. “Yes we will,” they seemed to say.

  7. Duh, Innings! says:

    YANKEES WIN! THU-UH-UH-UH YANKEES WIN!!!

The Yanks could leave Fenway up on Boston by a game or three or at worst a game behind.

Great play by Player Of The Game Nick “Swish” Swisher preventing a triple or inside the park homerun by Crawford and driving in the go-ahead and eventual winning run!!!!

    Excellent bullpen work!

Colon was ok and I think even he contributed to the win with 4 2/3 IP of 2-run ball. He certainly wasn’t hammered.

    • bornwithpinstripes says:

colon held the best hitting team to 2 runs.. great job..logans best outing to date,,he did not choke..girardi ,made great moves tonight.. ortiz needs to get drilled..enough already,

      • Duh, Innings! says:

Colon is an unsung hero :)

I see no point in drilling Ortiz as he is as fat as a hippo thus probably wouldn’t feel it. He’d be dangerous to hit cuz if he charges the mound any catcher who wraps his arms around Ortiz could hyperextend his arms from Ortiz’s girth.

Btw if you check Ortiz’s Wikipedia page his nickname is “Esther” because he bares resemblance to Esther Rolle the late lead female actress of the ’70s sitcom “Good Times” LOL!

        • bornwithpinstripes says:

ask beckett if there is no point in hitting a hot hitter, he has abused , jeter, arod and who ever the hottest hitter coming into the game is..ortiz needs to have a little fear coming to the plate..he hangs over the plate like batting practice. he is charging no where.. your right he does look like her, but hits like ruth vs us.

      • smurfy says:

Just on general principle, or for being a big ass Red Sock?

I thought Colon pitched very tough. Even without a main weapon in the 2 seamer.

        • Duh, Innings! says:

For being a Big Ass Red Sock who could give Martin an arm injury for being so damn wide.

How funny would it be if the Yanks won tomorrow, Sunday night’s game got rained out, the Yanks avoid Beckett and leave Fenway up two games? I know, double-header next series at Fenway 8/30-9/1 but I like the Yanks chances for a 3-1 series win with or without a doubleheader sweep cuz their rotaton is deeper than the Red Sox with Bucholz probably out for the rest of the year.

        • bornwithpinstripes says:

colon was very good, that is the best hitting team in baseball

  9. X says:

Ubaldo Jimenez got a gift AL/Cleveland debut win with his 5 IP 7 H 5 ER 3 BB 9 ERA crapfest although he did strikeout 7 (the only positive besides the win.) Like someone on some blog said “Welcome to the A.L.” hahahaha.

    • bornwithpinstripes says:

good thing cash passed ..i wanted no part of a deal with him.. that is correct welcome to the AL.. NL west hitters are the softest in BB.
