After sixteen consecutive games, the Yankees have a much deserved off-day. Hopefully they can use it to rest up, because the team turns around and plays another sixteen straight beginning tomorrow at home against the Royals.

Please use this as the open thread. If you’re like me, you’re watching the Miami Heat play the Boston Celtics on TNT, hoping somehow both teams lose. Otherwise, the Twins are playing the Red Sox on ESPN. Or, you could go outside, or something like that. Enjoy.

  1. Thor was terrible. Discuss.

    • Moshe Mandel says:

Really? It got really good reviews.

      • Yeah, I couldn’t stand it. The acting was generic, the characterization was bad (I didn’t care about the characters in any meaningful way), the special effects were decidedly NOT special, the cinematography was bland, the plot was uninspired…I can’t think of anything I liked about it.

  2. Ok, I happen to be a huge comic book fan, and for the love of god I cannot understand why anyone would make a movie about Thor? I knew that guy sucked when I was nine. Couldn’t they just make another Iron Man movie or something?

    • Steve S. says:

Yeah um, all sorts of this. As a kid, I followed Thor for about a week until I discovered the X-Men.

I’ll guess that they”ve done all the popular comic book heroes to death, so they’re scraping the bottle of the barrel now with Odin’s offspring.
