    Phil Hughes
    Gives Girardi the Blues
So he gets on the phone
    And calls for Bartolo Colon

    • bornwithpinstripes says:

an inning too late..3 runs the way he has been, colon should have come inat first sign of trouble

      • T.O. Chris says:

You can remove him “at the first start of trouble”, if you are only giving him a leash of one or two bad pitches just send him down and stop playing with his emotions.

He has to be given he chance to work his problems out, and he has to feel that his manager and team believe in him and are behind him. If that isn’t the case he needs to be in Scranton, but the worst thing for him would be the pen.

I think people are forgetting we are going to need Hughes for years to come, he can’t be thrown out or treated like some walk on scrub. If he has problems they need to be addressed but treating him like a burden to be shipped off to the pen and forgotten is a terrible idea for his growth as a starter.

Maybe this is all Hughes will ever be again velocity wise, it wouldn’t be the first time a pitcher lost velo not to regain it, but we still need him as a starter and he needs to learn to start with this velocity. Hughes’ biggest problem has always been his fastball control and now that his velocity has dropped it’s showing up more than ever before. Hughes loves to live wild in the zone and he has gotten away with it for the past 2 years due to his velocity, he needs to refine his control whether he starts throwing hard again or not. People need to be less concerned with his MPH and more concerned with the fact that he can’t control his fastball.

HELL of a play by Joba there!

    Oh, that was f***ing BEAUTIFUL!

  3. Professor Longnose says:

    Jorge Posada
Is a guy I like to see a lotta.

  4. Professor Longnose says:

Let Martin hit. He’s not a good bunter, and Gardner isn’t an rbi guy anyway.

  5. Professor Longnose says:

First great win of the year.

  6. paul says:

Why is the Feliciano signing indefensible? They lost money. So what? The Yankees are supposed to use their assets for high upside risky players. Unless they passed on someone better because of this signing, I don’t see why it was a bad move. It didn’t work out, obviously, but it certainly is defensible. It is just like the people who have a problem with the Soriano signing. Why? He makes the team better. Who cares about his contract unless you are an heir of Hank Steinbrenner.
