Three doubles off Burnett in the 4th. Not great, but not a disaster. If he can go 5 innings/2 runs or 6 innings 3 runs, I think we’ll all be OK with that.
It’s just too bad he had to give the lead back so quickly.
Classic manic AJ… really encouraged by all the changeups he is throwing though. He’s now thrown close 10, even doubling up on with a 1-0 count.
Andruw Jones is really seeing the ball well off of Liriano, I thought he had a HR eariler and now a double. He is looking to be this years Thames!
Oh absolutely; I’ll gladly sign up for 6IP 3ER from AJ right now.
Liriano has to be one of the top 5 nastiest lefties in the game, or close to it, the only way the Twins can consider trading him is if they fear his arm falling off.
I wouldn’t make the trade (if it included Montero or Banuelos) but he sure would look good in pinstripes haha.
Yeah, I’d take Liriano if I could get him for a package similar to what got Santana. I read somewhere that for some reasons the Twins put certain guys in the doghouse and trade them whether they should or shouldn’t.
Who would willingly re-create the Santana trade? The Twins got screwed! Haha they ended up with next to nothing once Gomez proved he couldn’t hit.
They aren’t putting him “in the dog house” he is a legit injury concern. Liriano throws more sliders than any player in baseball, that pitch is a known elbow shredder, the combination could lead to injury all over again. On top of that he relies on it so much many wonder how dominate he would be should that pitch regress due to injury or some other factor. He’s nasty and young, but his elbow, mechanics and repetoire all make him a red flag for injury and it drops his long term projection value.
I might be willing to make a deal involving both Betances and Brackman but I wouldn’t touch any of the higher ranked guys.
Did you guys see how the Red Sox game ended? Unbelievable.
It’s only six games but I get some sick satisfaction watching them stummble. I know they will get it going at some point, maybe that’s why it’s so enjoyable, but either way I can’t wait to hear the Boos in Crawford’s first AB.
Yeah,it’s a long season, everyone has 6 game losing streaks, and all that. But for Yankee fans, it’s fun while it lasts.
I know I should feel sorry for them. But this is too funny. So many people (including me) picked them to win the AL East because of that lineup. To see them scuffle like this is unreal.
it could be worse for Boston. If they were in the same division as Texas, they’d be a full 6 games out when the season was only 1 week old.
Now they’re 4.5. Could be 5 after the Os game tonight.
6 innings, 2 runs!! Whooo hooooooooooo!
I’ll drink to that!
