On every weeknight throughout the year, one of the TYA writers will post a trivia question as the nightly open thread. The blog administrators will keep track of the winners, and the commenter with the most correct answers will win a prize that has yet to be decided upon. The answers will be posted in the following evening’s open thread.

Sunday’s Question: 6’11″ Andrew Brackman is set to pitch for the Yanks in the next few days. Who are the tallest players in major league and minor league history?

Answer: Jon Rauch (6’11″) and Loek Van Mill (7’1″).

Today’s Question: In the 1994 strike shortened season Paul O’Neill led the AL in batting with a .359 average while Tony Gwynn paced the NL with a ridiculous .394 average. Who came in 2nd place in each league?
