On every night throughout the year, one of the TYA writers will post a trivia question as the nightly open thread. The blog administrators will keep track of the winners, and the commenter with the most correct answers will win a prize that has yet to be decided upon. The answers will be posted in the following evening’s open thread.

Yesterday’s Question: Yesterday, Texas owner Chuck Greenberg resigned as the managing partner of the Texas Rangers after just 7 months. Which Yankee owner was forced out by his partners after just two years at the helm by a series of confrontations following a world series celebration? (Hint: the patriarch of a famous baseball family)

Answer: Larry MacPhail (1945-1947)

Today’s Question: Former Yankee Alfredo Aceves has pitched well for the Red Sox this spring, and is even being considered for a spot in their rotation. 211 players (100 pitchers) have played for both the Yanks and Red Sox. How many can you name?
