red sox= most overrated team ever going into a season. also this granderson/jackson debate is funny to me. ill take a guy in granderson that has 35 hr 90 rbi potential over a 300 hitter with no power. montero’s defense is average but once again ill take a 300 hitter with 30 homer power over a 200 hitter in smoak with power but no plate discipline. john heyman should stop writing hes a joke.

    • Steve S. says:

Yeah, I posted those Heyman comments because I have a feeling he’s going to eat his words in a few months.

      • T.O. Chris says:

I definitely don’t see Jackson being better than Granderson this season, honestly though does anyone believe that Heyman knows what BABIP is? He just saw the high BA for Jackson and the low BA for Granderson and assumes one means more than the other, guys like Heyman are still stuck in the past looking at Avg, HRs and runs scored… Just like when MLB Network tries to rip people for ripping Jeter’s down year because “he still scored over 100 run, how is it a down year?” when we know that isn’t really the most important factor.

    • T.O. Chris says:

I don’t like the Sox but I have no idea how you call them overrated…

They have question marks in their rotation that people aren’t willing to address in public I understand that but it’s better than ours and their pen and lineup are close to if not as good/better than what we posses. I’m in for a dog fight and still believe we have a good chance to fight and claw our way to the top of the division but I can’t call a team with that kind of star power overrated.

Lester is a better pitcher than Sabathia, anyone Yankee fan expecting a bounce back from Burnett but not Beckett is completely bias in their opinion, Lackey had a better season than his ERA showed and looks much improved weight wise this spring and Buchholz is one of the great young pitchers in the game and if he gets his K rate up could be an ace.

They won 89 games last year with a lineup that had Pedroia and Youk missing major time, they have moved Cameron to the bench/RF with Drew while replacing him with Crawford (one of the most dynamic players on the bases in baseball), they added one of the best all around first baseman in baseball, and ellsbury is back giving them 2 different players with the ability and history of stealing 60 bases.

we may hate them but they are much improved on their 89 wins from last season and I would be shocked if they don’t win 94 games.

another guy i cant stand is keith law the troll that he is. he is so negative, pretentious and comes agross grumpy like he hasn”t been laid in a few years. i just listened to him on espn.com on the baseball today podcast rip the yankees about joba, how aj sucks, freddy garcia is gonna be horrible. etc…..

    • T.O. Chris says:

He loves Manny Banuelos and is firmly in his corner all the way to calling for him being a starter this year for the Yankees, so he does give credit to Yankee minor league prospects, he clearly isn’t a fan but his information on prospects is very useful. He’s arrogant alright but most people with any kind of position are so I’m use to it.

  3. stunna485 says:

the guy worked in the blue jay organization a few years back and did nothing and thinks he has some real baseball and scouting knowledge. hes absolutely horrible in his assessments of teams and players. he even ripped ivan nova’s start the other night because he caims it was just against a horrible oriole lineup.

    • Moshe Mandel says:

I happen to like Keith Law. He’s brutally honest, does not play favorites, and is always up front in his analysis of prospects. He tells you when he’s seen a guy, when he’s going off other people’s info, and so on.

      • T.O. Chris says:

He’s also kind of right, a lot of people are getting carried away with Nova’s start and kind of forgetting to keep it in perspective.

  4. Chris says:

It’ll be nice to see Pat Venditte again. The idea of having a switch-pitcher in the arsenal is too good not to pursue. Sadly, I don’t remember Pat’s fastball being a strength in either arm – he’d have to be very good at hitting his targets with curves to advance….

    • T.O. Chris says:

From what I recall off the top of my head he hits mid 80′s with the right hand and low 80 or high 70′s with the left hand.

      • stunna485 says:

lester is better than cc? stop watching baseball guy u lost me.

        • T.O. Chris says:

I have numbers and can back up the point but I’m not going to be in a conversation in the way you clearly want to carry on, if you care to actually discuss the topic I will but I’m not going to have a pissing contest and I don’t need to prove to you anything I believe. I will outline why I believe and back up my thoughts with facts and stats but I won’t insult you and I won’t allow myself to be insulted either.

  5. stunna485 says:

t.o chris your clearly a red sox fan trolling yankee sites. you kiss alot of red sox ass. they red sox have 3 question marks in lackey, beckett and daisuke who they trying to trade for god sake a worse bullpen and a very good lineup but the thought of them winning 100+ games in laughable in this division and the yankees are right there.

    • T.O. Chris says:

I’m not going to be insulted and carry on a conversation with you… Thanks but no thanks, I don’t care to argue like that.
