Midnight Tweets (updates on Banuelos, Bailey, Ian Kennedy)
(A daily recapping of the news and notes via Twitter that may be of interest to Yankee fans. Or at least those that are to this one)
MosheTYA I want Mark Prior to have one MOMENT at the Stadium this year. A huge K in a big spot, an ovation that he can point to and say ‘thats why.’
Ken_Rosenthal #Yankees RHP Romulo Sanchez out of options, impressing scouts. Kind of guy who would fit team in need of bullpen help. #MLB

Love that Kennedy is doing well, certainly rooting for him. Also, if Joba’s injury turns into more, Romulo could make this team.
I’m glad to see that Joel Sherman has finally, completely lost his mind. I’ve been expecting this for some time.
I really wanted Romulo to get a look last year because he really has the stuff to help someone out of the pen, he was wasted starting in the minors last year because his secondary pitches aren’t good enough for that but he is the kind of guy who can throw 1-3 innings at a time and hit 98 in each inning. His slider/change are almost interchangeable and neither is great but if he throws it enough to get hitters off the fastball he can blow it by you, he walks too many but he has the ability to K guys and keep the hits low, he isn’t a closer but he could be a better than Mitre long man or take over 6th inning spot until Joba is back.
I really think the Dbacks are making a mistake with Kennedy starting day 1, he is going to face everyone elses ace and he isn’t going to be that caliber of pitcher ever let alone now.
