Did anyone watch Banuelos pitch to the Tigers? I’ve only read about it and was hoping someone here watched it and can give their impression of what I heard was a very impressive inning. I haven’t heard anything about MPH and I read he had 2 Ks looking on curves but have heard nothing about if they were good curves or hanging ones.
They were good curves. He said after the outing that the curveball felt really good. His fastball was sitting 92-93 and he located it well, and he threw a solid changeup to get a groundout for the 3rd out, all against 3 legit ML hitters.
It wasn’t as flashy as Betances’ outing (though damn close) but by all accounts it was very impressive.

The game wasn’t televised, so I don’t think many people got to see it. According to Buster Olney Banuelos was 93-95 with the fastball, and looked very impressive. I have no idea whether the curves were good or hangers, but it is worthy of note that Banuelos did retire 3 major leaguers.
