Yesterday, RAB provided a statement about our YES censorship story. Steve Goldman of Pinstriped Bible just did the same:

In all that time, I have never been asked to alter the tone or substance of my commentary. The day that happens is the day we part company, though I don’t expect such a thing to come to pass, because the YESmen understand as well as I do that our readership is looking for honesty, not propaganda.

Why would either admit? They’ve both sold out. Sad

I wouldn’t say RAB sold out. They simply stated that YES has no control or influence over their content. All that happened for them was that YES pulled their banner for a few days. I don’t see how it affected their site, and I don’t know how many people even noticed.

As for PSB, as I understand it the article was pulled and rewritten. It is entirely possible that the author posted a response to the move with too much haste, and decided to pull it and edit it himself. I know I have done that many times, when the emotions of the moment have caused my to be less deliberate with my words.

However, if that is the case, PSB should have said so. Right now, the change to the article is a mystery, but when coupled with the disappearing RAB banner, it at least feels more likely that YES had a hand in the rewrite.
