A.J. Burnett made sure that Dave Eiland will never be allowed to leave the team again. He managed his first quality start in months. Unfortunately, the offense didn’t get the memo. Burnett’s win was staked to a 1-0 lead that Joba Chamberlain squandered in the 8th. David Robertson and Chan Ho Park made sure the Yakees didn’t get past the 11th.

Expect Boston to cut the division lead to 1/2 game at home against Baltimore tonight. This should up the pressure on the Yankee offense, that has now been MIA for four straight games.

One Response to Yankees squander solid outing from A.J., lose in extra innings

So Boston obviously won, and is also going to win today and tomorrow, since they're playing the Orioles. If the Yankees can't get their heads out of their asses the team is going to wake up on Monday in second place. Of course, considering that the Yankees hit to a .323 wOBA in June, I guess we should be thankful they aren't doing worse.

Also, time to DFA the hell out of Park. Just get this guy outta here.
