I just wanted to post an open letter thanking Joe and Evan for giving me an opportunity to be on their show. Both of them are very down to earth in person, and were gracious hosts. Producers Pete Bilotti and Dov Kramer also passed by to say hi, and it was nice meeting them as well. I always love talking Yankees, and doing it live on New York’s #1 sports station for an entire segment was an absolute thrill. I know some folks didn’t think we spent enough time on SABR stats, and that they painted me and all bloggers as geeks who can’t get a date. Don’t take everything that goes over the air too seriously, I certainly didn’t. They’re just trying to entertain people and it’s meant all in good fun.

Again, I really enjoyed the segment and it’s a memory I’ll never forget. So much so, that I am now trying to figure out how to sabotage Sweeney Murti’s car, so that he shows up late for work and hopefully gets fired. I think I have a shot to be the next Yankee beat reporter.

Damn, I missed it. Is the segment up on the web anywhere? Glad you had fun!

You know who else wrote an open letter to describe their feelings.

    Dan Gilbert.

Yea, I didn’t think the girlfriend stuff came off as too harsh, but the definitely could have used the time they spent on that talking more about stats. It’s also funny that Joe said he didn’t like fielding percentage because that doesn’t tell you about range, but would never accept UZR, a stat that does tell you about range.

Is there a bigger buffoon than Joe Benigno on talk show, that grandpa should have retired a long long time ago.
