The one thing I think is under-appreciated about The Boss is just how awful the Yankee’s brand name was when he took it over. Nobody went to their home games and a whole lot of people had a lot of fun mocking them. (See Cosell, Howard for a prime example.) I think it’s hard to relate to those that were too young (or not born yet) just how low the franchise was when he bought it (from CBS, of all people.)

A great man, who’s chairtable deeds to almost EVERY religion, denominatio, race and creed are largely overlooked. Turned the American Olympic committe around and made us great again in Olympic sports.
Overall, the good far, far outweighed the bad.
    RIP George!

He was a rare Great man who refused to operate in the normal political nicey-nice centrality that most of us operate our lives in. He was unafraid to challenge people, cross boundaries, exercise power, and offend people, if need be, to get the results he was after.

He held himself to very high standards and required it from almost everyone around him. He made a impact in his path of life when most people mostly just go with the flow. He created much value in life, and affected many, many people, systems, outlooks, and standards. He demanded the best from people. Tough but with a big heart.

A courageous and confident and decisive man that I will miss. God Bless.
