The Red Cross needs your help

I know this is a Baseball site, but I just wanted to give you guys a quick link to donate whatever you can to the American Red Cross. As I’m sure you’re aware, the situation in Haiti is dire and we’re already getting reports that the Red Cross is running out of medical supplies. They estimate that 3 million people will need emergency aid just to get through the next week or so. The Yankees have already done their part, announcing via Twitter that they’ve made a 500k donation. Here’s a quote from their press release:
“The catastrophic event has devastated an entire nation and will have far-reaching effects in the worldwide Haitian community, The Yankees hope their donation will inspire people throughout the United States to do everything they can to aid the people of Haiti in their time of need.”
Any donation of any size will help, don’t feel like $5-10 is too small an amount to contribute. To get even more bang for your buck, Small Dog Electronics is doing matching donations up to $200 with the proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders Haitian relief efforts. If you prefer, you can also text “HAITI” to 90999 and $10 will automatically be given to the Red Cross and charged to your cellphone bill.
Thanks in advance for all that contribute, and as always thanks for reading our blog.

- Most poker sites open to US players also provide online casinos accepting USA players. A good example of this is BetOnline.com, where you can play 3D casino games, bet on sports or play poker from anywhere in the United States.

Already sent in my $100. Hopefully someone will raise the ante on me and we can get a bidding war going.
MercyCorps is another great charity with a very solid reputation, http://www.mercycorps.org/
You start by saying that you know this is a baseball site, then you don’t give any explaination why you’ve decsided to overlook that fact, and you just go on to ask for donations.
The cause is probably a good one, I wond argue with that notion, but still for those of you that are not well informed, let me just say, there are many good causes all over around you, and all of them have well deserved your contribution. Of course, now that he anyways ignored the intent of the site, everyone should give some charity. There is no point not, just because steve used the wrong tool to make his point.
He didn’t overlook that fact. The Yankees donated 500K, which is the “link” to the story. Every Yankees blog out there had a similar story up today, and rightly so.
first, steve srated out by apologizing that this a baseball site, whice mislead me into thinking that what he was doing wasn’t right. plus, I wasn’t aware that the yankees are involved in this cause. unlike others, I can see my wrong doing, and I’m sincerly sorry for it.
It’s ok. You seem like a good dude. It is a good cause, and hopefully some people get inspired to help out.
Those MLB players that live in the DR , has anyone of them drove into haiti yet??
