From Mark Bowman (MLB.com):

There’s no doubt that Damon could benefit the Braves from an offensive perspective. But unless he’s willing to essentially play for free, there’s seemingly little reason to believe he’ll be prolonging his career in Atlanta this year.

From what I can gather, the Braves would become players in the Damon sweepstakes if his price drops to somewhere in the neighborhood of $1-2 million.

In other words, it’s not going to happen. Or as one Major League source said, “it would take a miracle” for (the Braves) to sign Damon.

If Atlanta isn’t really in on Damon, market-wise, he has nothing.

I bet he wished he tool that 2/14 now… that said I still hope the Yanks are smart enough to wait this out and try to pick him up at 5… he is surely much more valuable than that.

Looking over the teams out there I would say the Royals would be a good fit for DH/LF but we really haven’t heard anything. Interesting to watch this all play out. Will Boras learn a lesson?

  2. I don’t know what is on the mind of Johnny Damon right now but I know he is worried. His value has certainly went down for his talented skills (offensively).

Will Damon take the $ 2 million from the Yankees? Hard to tell. Let’s just keep our eyes on the ball shall we……..

What does that even mean, keeping our eyes on the ball?

Detroit and Atlanta being out could mean it’s Yankees or bust. I would keep your eyes on the Marlins though as a possibility. It’s like the last team I could think of.
