A New Site and A Legal Resolution
As you have probably noticed, The Yankee Universe is no more. Theyankeeuniverse.com will forward to theyankeeu.com for one month, and then this site will be the permanent and lasting home of this weblog, now called TYU: The Blog Formerly Known As The Yankee Universe. After several rounds of negotiations with Major League Baseball Advanced Media, we were unable to come to an amicable solution over the domain dispute that rocked the site earlier this month. Unfortunately, our limited resources and fear of litigation forced us to mostly concede to MLBAM. However, I can assure you that we did not go down without a fight, and the amazing word of mouth of the baseball blogosphere certainly riled them up a little bit: they demanded that after initial wave of bad p.r. we keep all negotiations private.
So, we would like to offer a disclaimer. TYU: The Blog Formerly Known As The Yankee Universe is in no way affiliated with the New York Yankees, MLB, MLBAM, Yankee Stadium, or Yankees Universe. And if you are dumb enough to think it is, you should probably sue us.
Although we reluctantly move to the new domain, all is not bad. We’ve been meaning to update the old site layout for awhile now. We think that theyankeeu.com is a big improvement over our first site (itself a fairly hastily put together wordpress template). Moshe Mandel definitely did the heavy lifting here, so he deserves a nice little internet round of applause. We’re still tinkering with the site design, so please let us know what you would like to see here.
On behalf of Chris, Moshe, Eric, Rebecca, Matt, Steve, and I myself, I would to thank you all for sticking with us this month and this year. In a short period of time, TYU has grown in to one of the largest Yankee blogs on the internet, and we’re not done yet. We have some innovative ideas for next season, and a few little surprises for this off season once the free agent buzz dies down. Happy New Year!

- Most poker sites open to US players also provide online casinos accepting USA players. A good example of this is BetOnline.com, where you can play 3D casino games, bet on sports or play poker from anywhere in the United States.

Huge props to Mo for all the time and effort he’s put into making this happen. It’s a great new look.
Sorry it went that far, they may have had a decent legal argument but they violated the cardinal rule of not pissing off the fans. I was hoping you guys would bring back your links, it was a great way to avoid memorizing the URLs for some of the other great Yankee blogs.
Sure. I’ll do it over the weekend.
Congrats, folks, the new site looks awesome! A solid round of applause to Moshe and the rest of the crew for providing solid daily content and a place to chat about our favorite topic.
Happy New Year!
Thanks for a great site in 2009. It was a special year and I followed it day to day on this site. The content and feedback from other readers makes this one of my favorite places to go on the internet. Joe
Guys,
I think you and the RAB guys are the best there are, along with the LoHud articles. Love RAB, but there are so many people posting it’s hard to get into a discussion sometimes. LoHud, for the most part, writes great articles but the fans that post don’t seem too intelligent. For both write ups and being able to communicate on the comment section, you guys are the clear front runner. Well done, and we are lucky to have you all. It’s hard to fight a conglomerate like the Yankees, but you all clearly come across as the good guys, so hang your hat on that. Thank you for everything, and I look forward to another great year.
Thanks a lot for adding to the overall 2009 experience, and have a great new year. Congrats on getting everything resolved — it’s always nice to tie up a major loose end to close out a year! Seems like the site is in good shape to go forward!
Screw MLB. They complain that interesting in baseball is declining (and wonder why), but they whenever some fans pour their heart and souls into the game, they go after them. Gee, I wonder why the NFL continues to pull away in popularity…
great job guys!! ill continue to visit for all my yankee news!!
happy new year!!
