Mark Feinsand of the Daily News is reporting that Melky Cabrera, who was removed from the game in the 6th inning with a hamstring injury, may not play in Game 5.  He would likely be replaced by either Brett Gardner or Jerry Hairston.  If Melky is unable to play for the rest of the series, Freddy Guzman or Francisco Cervelli could be activated.

That stinks. We already have 2 holes in the 8th and 9th hitters today bc of Molina. What is Hairston’s & Gradner’s no.s against Lee? Whoever has a beeter avg I guess should be in. Any latest updates as to Melky’s injury?

    • Well I think purely defensively you want Gardner in over Hairston! If we already don’t have a great offense with this lineup we should be focusing on taking away the other teams extra hits and Gardner is the best defensive CFer on our club and he hits lefties fine.

Somebody call Dan Shaunessey. The Phillies look like they are sandbagging us.

  3. Ramiro Pena has been activated to the World Series Roster to replace Melky… So it looks like if we are doing this thing we are going the rest of the way with no Melky man.
