Can’t wait for tomorrow, with the long game the night before a dayish game it’s setting up for Sabathia to come out firing and dominate game one and get the Yankees off on the right foot! I really doubt Brian Duensing can hold down this Yankee offense and it should allow the Yankees to get into the Twin bull pen early, a pen that should be with out Joe Nathan who had to throw 1.2 IP in high pressure situations tonight.
So the Twins are going to go with Duensing in game one and come back with Scott Baker on 3 days rest to face AJ Burnett and Molina and then Carl Pavano gets to pitch in Minnesota (possible done to avoid him having to pitch in NY just my thought) against Andy Pettitte. I think we can win all these games and have the favorable pitching match up in every game and for Sabathia and Burnett it could not be set up more perfect for them to come up big with CC going against a rookie tomorrow and Burnett getting to match up against their “ace” on 3 days rest, should be really exciting to watch. Let’s go Yankees post season 2009!
Game 1 in New York CC Sabathia Vs Brian Duensing
Game 2 in New York AJ Burnett Vs Scott Baker
Game 3 in Minnesota Andy Pettitte Vs Carl Pavano
Baker cannot go in Game 2, he pitched tonight. That would be two days rest.
I guess that is two days huh? Hey Don’t kill the messenger the baseball tonight guys laid out what they said what the set post season rotation for the Twins and they had Baker in game 2 Vs Burnett with Pavano pitching game three against Pettitte.
I checked the Yankee website it’s Blackburn for game 2 for which is actually more of an advantage for Burnett even though Blackburn has been hot the Yankees have hit him before this season.
Duensing Vs Sabathia
Blackburn VS Burnett
Pavano Vs Pettitte
I bet Baker will pitch game 4 if there is one leaving Blackburn or Pavano to pitch game 5.
