The Yankees have officially announced their selection of ALDS “Series A,” which will begin tomorrow at 6:07 pm. The series will last 8 days and the starting rotation will feature CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett and Andy Pettitte, in that order (so Molina may be inline to start 2 postseason games, although I think Girardi would use Posada in Game 5).

In addition, Brian Bruney will not make the ALDS roster, which is good news for David Robertson, who made the cut and will be in the bullpen during the series.

Well I feel bad for Brian Bruney but I think we all saw this coming, he had gotten better in past weeks but he just wasn’t trust worthy for the better part of the season and he lost out in the numbers game because of it. Maybe he can work and come back strong next year ready to compete for a better position in the pen.

I really hope Molina doesn’t have to start two games of the ALDS because that would assure two games in every series and I just don’t see that being effective through out the post season, we need out A line up on the field.

It’s going to be the Twins and they are going to be a tough match up but they will be tired tomorrow and have to fly to New york tonight, the fact that they have no ace to go against Sabathia really bodes wells for him and Burnett as the match ups should favor both of them pretty heavily.

    No Justin Verlander!

    Brian Duensing to start?

  3. The other Chris H says:

So they just said that Brian Duensing is the probable game 1 starter for the Twins and I assume that Carl Pavano is the game 2 or 3 starter and Scott Baker will take whichever game that Pavano doesn’t pitch, this could set up to be a straight sweep because we have a major advantage in every single game and if Scott Baker starts game 2 he has to do it on 3 days rest.

    • Moshe Mandel says:

I think they will go 1) Duensing, 2) Blackburn or Pavano, 3) Baker, 4) Blackburn or Pavano, 5) Whoever started Game 2.

      • The other Chris H says:

I think in the end they will settle with 1. Duensing 2. Pavano 3. Baker just because of how good Pavano was for them down the stretch and the fact that Pavano pitched pretty well in his last game for them to get them to the one game play in.

Game 1. CC Sabathia Vs Duensing
Game 2. AJ Burnett Vs Pavano
Game 3. Scott Baker Vs Andy Pettitte

Truthfully I could see a sweep in this series pretty easy because the only game that should even be a probable win for the Twins would be Baker Vs Pettitte and if Andy does happen to lose you have Sabathia going against either Duensing again or Blackburn and either way CC has the advantage.
