The Yankees have their first 2-0 lead in the American League Division Series since 1999. It would be silly to call tonight’s game against the Twins a must-win, but it would also be fantastic to see them shut the door on Minnesota, LA Dodgers-style. It’d be great to see the Yankees secure an early lead — something they have yet to do in this series — and take the crowd out of it immediately. Championship teams need to stomp on their opponents’ necks when the enemy has its back against a wall, and I fully expect the Yankees to take the series down this evening.

While four off days before Game 1 of the ALCS will be torture for us fans this week, it’ll also help ensure the team is plenty rested to clobber whichever annoying team comes out of the other ALDS.

  1. It's still seriously going to be a game 1 ALCS if Anaheim and the Yanks win today? Torture for the players and the fans
