Not exactly what you want to hear from your likely ALDS Game 3 starter, but Andy Pettitte’s shown me enough over the years that I believe he’ll be ready to go once the games start counting again.

Not much else to say about the Yankees’ 5-3 loss to the Rays in Game 161, other than that it was their third loss in a row and it’d be kind of nice to end the season with a victory.

Jorge Posada apparently gets the managerial nod in the team’s final game of the year tradition, while we’ll hope to see another good outing from A.J. Burnett. If Burnett gets lit up with Jose Molina behind the dish, perhaps all that talk about the Panda and his Alvaro Espinozian 48 OPS+ getting a start in the playoffs will evaporate as quickly as the Tigers’ playoff chances appear to be.

One Response to Pettitte: “I had no command of my fastball, my curveball, my cutter was flat. There was not one thing I could take out of it that was positive.”

Curious if any other teams do the player/coach thing on the last day of the season???
