IFA Miguel Angel Sano passes age investigation
Persistent questions about top Dominican Shortstop’s Miguel Angel Sano’s age have been answered in the affirmative by an MLB investigation. Here’s the story:
Predator video A Good Night to Die movies Patrick download The prized prospect of this year’s July 2nd international free agent class, Miguel Angel Sano, passed his Major League Baseball age and identity investigation, a source in the Dominican Republic tells SI.com.
An official announcement is expected later today. Sano, a 16-year-old shortstop, is expected to receive the largest signing bonus — rumored to be north of $3 million — of a position player from the baseball-rich island. At 6-foot-3, some believe Sano would be best suited at third base or in the outfield. He boasts power to all fields and a solid throwing arm.
The Pirates, Orioles and several other American League teams are said to be interested in signing Sano.
The questions had persisted because Sano at 16 has the body of an older player. Having his age check out would mean that at least physically, he’s a very special athlete.
Not sure if this changes the Yanks’ interest in him. Yankee GM Brian Cashman has been quoted as saying the Yanks think he’s worth a 3 mil bonus, and that if he would sign for that price they would bring him aboard. But they were also very quiet after working him out, which could mean his sessions didn’t go all that well. With SS Damian Arradondo’s 850K contract being nixed over an age investigation, if the Yanks were cool on Sano for a combination of budgetary/age reasons, then perhaps their interest will pick up on the heels of this news.

any chance the yanks go after him
No indication as of yet. But with Arradondo’s deal getting canceled, that may change things.
