One Response to Minors Recap, 6/16

  1. Jon G says:

When does Melancon get the call up?

It seems like the next move would be to jettison Tompko and call up Melancon (whose issues first call up should prove to be just jitters).

This time, they should get him slowly acclimated to the MLB level, starting in low leverage situations, like they did with Joba. Even Joba had to earn his higher-leverage situations and eventual 8th inning role, and earn ‘em he sure did!

They have another potential key piece here in Melancon, and before they make any trades, I still see the team as needing to evaluate this internal option for strengthening the pen.
