The Marlins have returned Zach Kroenke (LHP) to the Yankees after having selected Kroenke in the Rule V Draft. Florida was hoping that he would stick in their bullpen, however, after a tough month he was offered back to NY for $25,000.

EJ’s Thoughts: Kroenke was solid last year after being moved to a relief role. He showed a particularly strong proclivity toward ground balls and strikeouts against left-handed hitters, but continued to struggle with righties. His control was also so-so. If Kroenke has a future, it is strictly as a 25th man LOOOGY type, and he is probably behind Dunn, De La Rosa and Coke in the Yankee lefty relief depth chart.
