From Mark Feinsand (Daily News):

Edwar Ramirez cut his throwing session short after just five pitches, complaining of discomfort in his right shoulder. He was initially diagnosed with tendinitis, but the reliever will visit team orthopedist Dr. Allen Miller today for further evaluation.

“We have to wait,” Ramirez said regarding his level of concern. “I don’t know what I have.”

Ramirez said he felt a similar issue during the final three games of the 2008 season, but this was the first time he experienced it this spring.

If the issue occurred last season and is still a problem now, I would assume that it’s a fairly serious injury. While this is certainly a blow to the team’s pitching staff, the bullpen depth could more than absorb his loss.

I’m not ready to jump to those conclusions. I have things that ail me from time to time, but they are not serious. Then again, I am not a ballplayer.

    Sounds bad to me.

Sucks, Edwar is one of my faves.

Sounds bad.Makes one of my favorites Phil Coke much more important.Edwar was good at getting lefties out.Now it’s Phil and Marte.
Overall I was never convinced that Edwar was more than a one trick pony who eventually the league would certainly catch up to.

I’m going to give him some time before worrying about his shoulder. It should be noted though that he pitched a ton of innings over the last 2 years.
