According to the NY Post, in a rare show of common sense, Edolphus Towns (D-Brooklyn), the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, said that the “American people need leaders who will focus on stemming job losses and getting credit to flow in the marketplace before hearing from yet another person who cheated both himself and the game of baseball”. Really? So no more wasting the time of the pretentious, self-centered jackasses who run our country and only actually work about 140 days per year? Wow. Good job, Congress (he said sarcastically).

Wow. Is it sad that I am shocked at some sanity coming from Congress?

As a lawyer let me interpret his statement.
“While I would love nothing better than to hold a hearing featuring A-rod because it would be broadcast by ESPN (instead of just C-SPAN) and get me sound bytes on every newscast, I will hold off on doing that until I can get the full limelight since right now people think there are some other issues that need to be dealt with (although my job is pretty secure so as long as there is pork in the ‘stimulus bill’ I’m happy).”
