Yeah, there is really no way to logically defend the alternative position. Basically, Joba would need to be mediocre as a starter and insanely dominant as a reliever to justify putting him in the pen. Only a mitigating factor such as health could honestly make me beleieve that Joba belongs anywhere but in the rotation.
